World T20, 2016 - The missing eleven

The World T20 2016 is here and with it comes plenty of action. Each team have their own stars to light up the tournament and entertain us. However, what about those who missed the plane? Below is the XI we feel are unlucky to miss out:
Lendl Simmons (West Indies)
Simmons was the latest causality in a long list of injured players. The West Indian opener was initially named in the squad before a back injury ruled him out of the competition. He would have been an ideal foil for Chris Gayle and West Indies at the top of the order.
Dwayne Smith (West Indies)
Another West Indian who failed to make the cut. The explosive batsman has scored heaps of runs in T20 leagues around thw world. In fact, he was the Man of the Match in the final during the recently concluded Pakistan Super League. However, there is no place for him in the 15-man squad.
Shaun Marsh (Australia)
By now the older of the Marsh brothers would be wondering what he needs to do to cement a place in the Australian side. Runs in Big Bash League were not sufficient to convince the selectors that he is ready for the World T20. Maybe keep scoring more runs and hope for a vacancy in the top-order.
Kevin Pietersen (England)
The England-discard has lit up T20 leagues across the globe. Having scored loads of runs in the Ram Slam, Big Bash and Pakistan Super League, Pietersen would have hoped for a call-up to the England side, but that was not to be and instead he joins this team.
Matthew Wade (wk) (Australia)
Until recently Matthew Wade was a permanent member of the Australian One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 (T20 side. Lack of runs and inconsistency brought an axe down his neck. Peter Nevill, Australia's Test wicketkeeper, takes his place in the team travelling to India.
Kieron Pollard (West Indies)
Pollard is the complete package when it comes to T20 cricket. A destructive batsman, more than a handy bowler and an electrifying fielder. What more can one ask. A knee injury though has kept him away from cricket, which also means he is not part of the West Indian squad, who surely are going to miss his services.
Jimmy Neesham (New Zealand)
James Neesham might forever be the bridesmaid of the New Zealand team. He was in the plans for the 2015 One-Day International (ODI) World Cup and still couldn't find a place in the final 15-man squad. And now, he injured himself before the Australia tour and since then the likes of Colin Munro and Grant Elliott have succeeded to take his spot.
Sunil Narine (West Indies)
Sunil Narine was one of the hottest properties in T20 leagues. The mystery bowler had bamboozled the batsmen around the world, but a suspension for suspect action broke all his confidence. The re-modelled action doesn't pose much threat and Narine himself backed out of the competition.
Mitchell Starc (Australia)
Man of the Series in the 2015 ODI World Cup and Australia's spearhead, Mitchell Starc would be missed the most. The left-arm fast bowler injured his ankle during the Test series against New Zealand and failed to recover in time. Many batsmen will breathe a sigh of relief with Starc's absence.
Morne Morkel (South Africa)
Morkel's name missing from South Africa's 15-man World T20 squad came as a surprise to most. The lanky fast bowler had led the attack in Dale Steyn's absence and had done it effectively. However, he couldn't find a spot in the final 15 with Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris and Kyle Abbott beating him to that, to book their berths to India.
Matt Henry (New Zealand)
Matt Henry, the in-form New Zealand bowler, who has come leaps and bounds over the past year, even achieving a career-high ranking in ODIs - 4th - unfortunately didn't make the cut when it came to T20Is. He found himself down the pecking order, below Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Adam Milne and Mitchell McClenaghan.
